Koebner phenomenon due to physical trauma
This phenomenon of the same skin disease appearing on the injured area is called 'Koebner's phenomenon' after the doctor who first reported it, Koebner.
Koebner's phenomenon appears only when trauma stimulates the skin deeply, and usually the shape appears exactly as the trauma occurred, as if it were artificially created. This phenomenon of skin disease appearing on normal skin due to skin damage caused by physical trauma only appears in vitiligo among various skin diseases that show white spots, and it helps to distinguish it from white spots of other diseases. It usually appears on the injured area 2-4 weeks after the trauma, but it can also appear before the real vitiligo occurs.
